Adventist Midwest Health & Adventist Health Network Announce Affiliation with Physicians Immediate Care as Preferred Urgent Care Provider

First-ever Adventist Midwest Health partnership begins with four clinics in Chicago-area western suburbs; focuses on increased efficiencies in cost, continuity of care and convenience.

Hinsdale, IL – Continuing to expand its services and geography to meet the needs of Cook, DuPage and Will counties, Adventist Midwest Health (AMH) and Adventist Health Network, both of Hinsdale, IL announced a first-of-its kind partnership with Physicians Immediate Care of Rosemont, IL to provide increased patient access to medical care. The partnership begins with a focus on three clinics in the western suburbs:
  • 13641 S. Route 59
    Plainfield, IL 60544

  • 335 E. Army Trail Road
    Glendale Heights, IL 60139

  • 391 S. Bolingbrook Drive
    Bolingbrook, IL 60440

A fourth clinic is being planned for the Hinsdale-La Grange service area. It will be located at 222 Ogden Ave., near the intersection of I-294 and Ogden Avenue. The new clinic will open within the next three months. The partnership is evaluating additional sites in the upcoming months.

“Partnering with Physicians Immediate Care as a part of the extended Adventist Midwest Health network of care expands our patient-centered, medical home philosophy further into the community to ensure patients receive the same high-quality, cost-efficient care they have become accustomed to in a more convenient and responsive manner,” said David L. Crane, president and CEO of AMH. “This affiliation aligns with our goal of partnering with patients and families to achieve optimal health in a comprehensive, highly personal environment.”

Adventist Health Network is a clinically integrated network of community physicians who collaborate with Adventist Midwest Health. It is made up of more than 700 providers, including Adventist Health Partners, a growing physician group of more than 280 providers in primary and specialty care.

Dr. George Mayzell, senior chief medical officer and chief clinical integration officer with Adventist Midwest Health, said, “The new partnership means we will expand patient choice and access to physician services, which will now be offered in convenient locations during a wider range of hours when some of our physician offices are not open, including evenings, Saturdays and Sundays.” Mayzell added that partnering with Physicians Immediate Care expands AMH hospitals’ ability to further integrate clinical care, especially for current members of Medicare and commercial insurance Accountable Care Organizations, in a cost-effective setting.

Stan Blaylock, Physicians Immediate Care President and CEO, said Physicians Immediate Care provides a segment of health care that people need, offered seven days a week at a lower cost and often faster than emergency room services. He said, “As AMH’s preferred urgent care provider, Physicians Immediate Care expands options for patients in their medical neighborhoods to receive care in very cost-effective and high quality settings.”

The partnership ensures coordination of care for patients through clinical integration and data sharing initiatives that are part of the new agreement. These are designed to improve continuity with community physicians and hospitals, and enhanced patient safety, through shared access to patients’ medical records for key information such as allergies, current conditions, and medications.

Adventist Health Network physicians welcome the partnership as a way for their patients to get high quality medical care outside their own hours of operation, through the Physicians Immediate Care clinics, Mayzell said. The new partnership also helps AMH fulfill its mission work with patients to keep them at their healthiest, emphasizing education and preventive medicine, as well as to restore health when illness strikes.
