Hinsdale – Adventist Hinsdale
Hospital is proud to
announce the appointment of Dr. Frank Lutrin as medical director of
cardiovascular and thoracic surgery at the hospital’s Rooney Heart Institute. A
cardiothoracic and vascular surgeon, Lutrin has treated patients at Adventist Hinsdale Hospital
since 1999. He replaces the late Dr. David Calandra.
“Dr. Lutrin is a talented physician and inspiring
leader who puts patient care first,” said David L. Crane, president and CEO of
Adventist Hinsdale Hospital. “It is because of surgeons like Dr. Lutrin that Adventist Hinsdale Hospital
is recognized as a world-class institution.”
A native of Cape Town,
South Africa, Lutrin earned
his medical degree from the University
of Cape Town in 1987. He did
general surgery training at the University
of Illinois at Chicago
and completed his fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery at the University of California-Los Angeles Medical Center
in 1997. He is a fellow of the American
College of Surgeons and a
member of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons. He also is a clinical assistant
professor at Loyola University Medical
Center in Maywood.

excellence,” said Lutrin, a 45-year-old Chicago
resident. “Today, I am honored to take on a leadership role with an
organization that is passionate about patients, their families and the local
community.”
