Bolingbrook – A cuddly
black-and-white teddy bear will be given to each baby born and each pediatric
patient admitted to Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital,
thanks to a donation from Helzberg Diamonds in Bolingbrook.
The jeweler donated 98 of the stuffed animals to the Bolingbrook Hospital
Foundation last month.
“We’re grateful to Helzberg
Diamonds for this gift,” said Derek Cazeau, executive director of the
Bolingbrook Hospital Foundation. “These bears are wonderful keepsakes to
distribute to all of the new babies being born at our hospital.”
More than 500 babies have been born
at Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital
since it opened in January, far exceeding hospital administrators’ initial
projections. New projections estimate that more than 700 babies will be
delivered by the year’s end.
“Because Adventist Bolingbrook
Hospital has been such a
welcome addition to our community, we wanted to show our appreciation,” said
Glenda Loeschen, manager of Helzberg Diamonds, located at the Promenade.
