La Grange – A four-story,
50,000 square-foot professional office building on the Adventist La Grange
Memorial Hospital
campus is being demolished this month to make room for more parking and easier hospital
access for patients and visitors. The 36-year-old building housed physicians’
offices, which have since relocated to other spots in the area.
Nine parking spots reserved for the handicapped
will be created, along with additional landscaping and benches. The hospital
also will gain 320 spots previously reserved for visitors to the office
building, bringing the total number of parking spots to 1,645 for the hospital
and the existing medical office building.
The demolition was planned as a
follow-up to the 2006 grand opening of the hospital’s $80 million Patient Care Center.
The center, a 225,000-square-foot addition, created a new “front door” for the
hospital; the demolition of the professional office building creates better
access to that front door.

office building gives the community a less obstructed view of our beautiful new

patients and visitors find the hospital to be a more aesthetically pleasing and
inviting place.”
