Medical Director:  John E. Gocke, MD, MPH, RVT, RPVI

Dr. Gocke is a Vascular Medicine specialist and medical director of the vascular labs at Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital since 1993 and Adventist Hinsdale Hospital since 2007. He earned his medical degree from Rush Medical College of Rush University and completed his residency at the Mayo Clinic. 

Dr. Gocke is a nationally recognized expert in vascular ultrasound. He was one of the founding board members of the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories (ICAVL), a professional peer-review organization dedicated to promoting high quality noninvasive vascular ultrasound testing by providing an accreditation process for vascular laboratories in the United States , Canada , and Puerto Rico. He served the longest consecutive term of any board member in ICAVL history – 16 years – and was president of the organization from 2001-03.  Both Adventist La Grange Memorial and Adventist Hinsdale Hospital’s vascular labs have been accredited by ICAVL since 1994 and have been re-accredited four times since, demonstrating a continued commitment to providing high-quality non-invasive vascular ultrasound services.

Dr. Gocke also is an elected member of the American Venous Forum as well as the International Union of Angiology, and is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Vascular Medicine. He sits on the American Registry of Diagnostic Sonographers (ARDMS) national exam development task force for the RPVI exam.

Vascular Technologists are required to receive continuing medical education (CME) totaling 30 CME credit hours every three years to maintain the RVT credential which is the professional standard of practice in the field of Vascular Technology. Our technologists have over 30 years of vascular testing experience.
