Helping children who have experienced the death of someone they love is one of the most difficult tasks a parent or other relative may ever face. Tommy’s Kids Support Group and Camp are available to assist you with this difficult task and to help your child learn healthy ways of coping.
Tommy’s Kids Support Group and Camp allow opportunities for children who are grieving to come together to talk about their loss, to remember special times, to meet new friends and to have fun. Children write stories about the person who died, draw and paint pictures, participate in arts and crafts, and play games in addition to many other activities.
Both programs are facilitated by St. Thomas Hospice staff and volunteers. All staff and volunteers receive specialized training in childhood development and grief by Cathy Blanford, founder of Tommy’s Kids Support Group.
