The Vascular Center of Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital and Adventist Hinsdale Hospital's Outpatient Vascular Lab at Hinsdale Imaging Center provides vascular ultrasound testing of arteries and veins as a noninvasive, cost effective method of detecting disease in the peripheral vascular and cerebrovascular (carotid) systems.
The Vascular Center performs carotid, arterial, renal, mesenteric (visceral vascular) and venous duplex ultrasound examinations for inpatients and outpatients. Inpatient and emergency room vascular ultrasound testing is performed portably at the patient’s bedside. All of these tests are safe and painless as they involve ultrasound which gives off no radiation like x-rays or CT scans do.
In addition to performing these vascular exams, the Vascular Center has expanded services by introducing several testing modalities not offered in many labs, including transjugular intrahepatic portal systemic shunt (TIPS) duplex, TCPO2 testing (transcutaneous oximetry), and venous reflux testing for the detection of venous insufficiency.
Non-Invasive Vascular Ultrasound Screening & Diagnostic Testing
The Vascular Center now offers Vascular Screening exams. Doctors may order screening studies directly or patients may request vascular screening exams for Carotid Artery Disease (stroke risk), Perpheral Arterial Disease (PAD) (for blocked arteries in the leg and increased heart disease risk), and AAA (Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm).
The Vascular Center is accredited by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories (ICAVL) in: Extracranial Cerebrovascular testing, Peripheral Venous testing, Peripheral Arterial testing, and Visceral Vascular testing.
The ICAVL is dedicated to promoting high quality noninvasive vascular diagnostic testing in the delivery of health care by providing a peer review process of laboratory accreditation.
Adventist La Grange Memorial’s Vascular Center is located south of the hospital in Suite 200 of the attached Medical Office Building at 5201 S. Willow Springs Road for outpatient testing (south side of the hospital campus). Adventist Hinsdale Hospital's Outpatient Vascular Lab at Hinsdale Imaging Center is located at 908 N. Elm Street, Suite 404 in Hinsdale, Illinois.
