The Physicians of Adventist Midwest Geriatrics Specialists
The physicians, physician assistants and staff of Adventist Midwest Geriatrics Specialists are dedicated to improving the health and quality of life of older adults. The physicians treat patients at Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital, Adventist Hinsdale Hospital, Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital and Adventist GlenOaks Hospital, as well at five outpatient centers in the Chicago suburbs.

Vyjayanthi Atluri, M.D.
Dr. Atluri is board certified in Internal Medicine. She completed her residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2001. She completed a geriatric specialty fellowship at Loyola University Medical Center/Hines VA Hospital in 2004.

Robert E. Johnson, M.D.
Dr. Johnson completed a fellowship in Geriatric Medicine at Loyola University Medical Center and Edward Hines, Jr. Veterans Administration Hospital. He is board eligible in Internal Medicine.

Rajeev Kumar, M.D., FACP
Dr. Kumar is the medical director of Adventist Midwest Geriatrics Specialists. He completed a residency in Internal Medicine from University of Illinois and a fellowship in Geriatric Medicine at Loyola University Medical Center. He is board certified in Geriatrics and Internal Medicine.

Lawrence R. LaPalio, M.D., FACP, CMD
Dr. LaPalio is the medical director emeritus of Adventist Midwest Geriatrics Specialists. He completed his residency at the University of Illinois. Dr. LaPalio is board certified in Internal Medicine; has added qualifications in Geratric Medicine; is a Certified Medical Director through the American Medical Directors Certification Program; and is a Fellow in the American College of Physicians.

Peter E. Norvid, M.D., FACP, CMD
Dr. Norvid is board certified in Internal Medicine with added qualifications in Geriatric Medicine. He completed a fellowship in Geriatric Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles. Dr. Norvid is also a Fellow in the American College of Physicians and a Certified Medical Director.

Shahla Nyaeme, M.D.
Dr. Nyaeme is board certified in Internal Medicine and Geriatrics. She completed her residency at John Stroger, Jr. Hospital (formerly Cook County Hospital) in 2004. She completed a geriatric specialty at Loyola University Medical Center/Hines VA Hospital. Dr. Nyaeme has dedicated her medical practice exclusively toward the treatment of older adult patients. |

Rahmawati Sih, M.D., CMD
Dr. Rahmawati is board certified in Internal Medicine with added qualifications in Geriatric Medicine. She received her medical degree from the University of Chicago, completed an Internal Medicine residency at Case Western Reserve University and a Geriatric Medicine fellowship at St. Louis University. Dr. Sih is also a Certified Medical Director in long term care.
