Education & Screenings

The Adventist Cardiovascular Network offers a wide range screenings and prevention tools help you in fight against disease.  First, try our Coronary Heart Disease Self-Assessment Tool to determine your risk of developing heart disease within the next 10 years.

Heart Score Screening

The Heart Score screening is your first step in understanding your risk for heart disease.  This individualized consultation and screening with a health care professional takes less than 30 minutes and includes:
• Cardiac Risk Factor and History Assessment
• Cholesterol Screening (including HDL and triglycerides)
• Blood Sugar Test
• Blood Pressure Assessment
• A one-on-one, private consultation with a health care professional
• EKG (optional)

Educational Programs

Each year, more than 500 children take advantage of the “Start with the Heart” programs created to educate elementary school students about diet, exercise, tobacco and other risks contributing to heart disease. 

Adventist Cardiovascular Network also hosts annual community health fairs with blood pressure and cholesterol screenings and Body Mass Index analysis, along with the annual Rooney Heart 5K Fun Run & Walk, a trek through historic downtown Hinsdale.
